In the whirlwind of motherhood, one profoundly realizes that amidst the joy and wonder, there exists a silent struggle. Postpartum mothers, warriors of love and resilience, face a journey not always spoken of—the journey of nurturing not just their newborns but also their own mental well-being.
Out of this recognition was born MUMS—Motherhood's Ultimate Method for Success. MUMS is not just another program; it is a beacon of hope, a sanctuary where postpartum moms find solace, support, and empowerment. Focusing on helping the postpartum mom’s mental health through the transition into motherhood, each mom can embark on a transformative journey. MUMS will teach each mom that prioritizing their mental well-being is not selfish; it is essential for the well-being of their family.

Your intake appointment is scheduled! What next steps need to be taken prior to this appointment? There will be four items for you to complete prior to your initial appointment: Set up your practice portal Sign our practice paperwork Complete assigned symptom screeners Sign the payment agreement You can expect to receive an email from Valant MYIO which will provide directions on how to set up the patient portal. Once your portal is activated, our staff will upload the practice paperwork for you to sign and assign symptom screeners for you to complete. All of this can be completed digitally through the patient portal. Finally, our staff will email you a payment agreement for you to digitally sign. Any virtual intake appointments will be required to complete all practice paperwork 48 hours prior to their appointment. If the paperwork is not completed at that time, we may cancel the intake appointment and reschedule it for a future date. If you have any questions along the way, please do not hesitate to reach out!
-
Are you planning to schedule a virtual appointment?Due to our clinical state licensures, it is mandated by state law that clients are physically present in the State of South Carolina during the time of virtual sessions. Therefore, if you plan to be out of the state during the time of your appointment, please ensure to cancel with more than 24 hours advanced notice.
-
Do you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment? Please remember to cancel or reschedule your scheduled appointment with at least 24-hour advanced notice. If you are providing us with more than 24 hours’ notice, we would be happy to help cancel your appointment and find another time that works better for you. However, if you are providing us with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be responsible for the cancellation fee of $125. This policy is necessary because your clinician has made a time commitment to you and your appointment time is being held exclusively for you.
-
Are you running late?We appreciate that running late happens to the best of us. However, we want you to be aware that if you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. And if you are more than twenty minutes late to your appointment, you may be required to reschedule your appointment and you will be charged the late cancellation fee.
-
Let’s talk about confidentiality!Your session content and all relevant materials to your treatment will be held confidential unless you request in writing to have all or portions of such content released to a specifically named person/persons. However, there are limitations to such client held privilege of confidentiality. These limitations include: If a client threatens or attempts to commit suicide or otherwise conducts himself/herself in a manner in which there is a substantial risk of incurring serious bodily harm. If a client threatens grave bodily harm or death to another person. If the therapist has a reasonable suspicion that a client or other named victim is the perpetrator, observer of, or actual victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse of children under the age of 18 years. If suspicions as stated above exist in the case of an elderly person who may be subjected to these abuses. Suspected neglect of the parties named in items #3 and # 4. If a court of law issues a legitimate subpoena for information stated on the subpoena. If a client is in therapy or being treated by order of a court of law, or if information is obtained for the purpose of rendering an expert’s report to an attorney.
